ACROSS JAPAN CO., LTD. (“ACROSS JAPAN”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use acrossjpn.com, how and why we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have — including under the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The data controller is:
Information you give us — when you contact us by email, WhatsApp, or through the enquiry links on this site, we collect your name, contact details (email, phone), and the information you choose to share about the vehicle or parts you are interested in.
Information collected automatically — if you consent to analytics cookies, we collect limited usage data such as the pages you visit, approximate (city-level) location, device and browser type, and the site that referred you. We do not collect this until you accept it.
We use Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. These analytics cookies are loaded only after you accept them in our cookie banner — by default they are disabled (we use Google Consent Mode, set to “denied” until you choose otherwise).
A small piece of data is stored in your browser to remember your cookie choice; this is essential and is not used for tracking. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page.
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed to provide our service: with Google (analytics, if you consent), and with the auction houses, logistics, and shipping partners required to source and export your vehicle. These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
We are based in Japan and your data is primarily processed here. Some service providers (such as Google) may process data in other countries. Japan benefits from an EU adequacy decision, and where data is transferred we take appropriate steps to keep it protected.
We keep enquiry and customer data only for as long as needed for our relationship with you and to meet legal and accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
Depending on your location, and in particular under the GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our use of your personal data, to request portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email info@acrossjpn.com. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@acrossjpn.com. We may update this policy from time to time; the “last updated” date above shows the current version.
